William D. Hennip

William D. Hennip, 69, of North Orwell, Pa passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, February 13, 2019. Bill was born on January 15, 1950 in Sayre, Pennsylvania a son of the late Harvey and Anna (Donaldson) Hennip. He was a graduate of Northeast Bradford High School where he served as his Class of 1967 president. Following graduation Bill assisted his family with the operation of the dairy farm in North Orwell. For many years, Bill served as the president of the Bradford County Dairy Herd Improvement Association and was a past member of the Bradford County Holstein Club. In addition, he was active with the SULBRA Breeders organization and dairy sale along with the PA Holstein Association. When not spending time on the farm, Bill enjoyed playing softball for Moore's Auto Sales and bowling. He also enjoyed serving as a PIAA basketball referee for many area games. Bill enjoyed sharing his love of farming with his nieces and helping with their 4-H dairy projects. Bill is survived by his brothers: Harvey "Bud" G. (Teri) Hennip of Tioga Center, NY; Gary (Marianne) Hennip of Rome, Pa; Shirley Russell of LeRaysville, Pa; Carol (Donald) Smith of Rome, Pa; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and cousins also survive. Bill was predeceased by his parents Harvey and Anna Hennip; his sister Betty (Arthur) Bowen; and a brother-in-law E. Preston Russell. Family and friends are invited to attend a period of visitation on Monday, February 18th from 10 to 11 am at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols. A funeral service and celebration of Bill's life will follow at 11 am with Rev. Philip T. Wanck, officiating. Interment and prayers of committal will follow in the North Orwell Cemetery.
