Jeanne Bosworth O'Brien, 93, passed away on January 11, 2010, her husband William E. O'Brien passed away six days later on January 17, 2010. Jeanne was born on September 25, 1916 in Nichols, NY, a daughter of the late Guy S. and Mattie (Kingsley) Bosworth. Jeanne was a graduate of Nichols High School and the Robert Packer School of Nursing. Devoted to the service of others, Jeanne worked as a registered nurse at the Robert Packer Hospital and in Florida. She was a member of the Nichols Presbyterian Church and the Robert Packer School of Nursing Alumni. Jeanne enjoyed golfing and gardening. Maj. William E. O'Brien, Ret. Air Force Officer, 89, was born on December 6, 1920 in Schenectady, NY, a son of the late William E. and Hannah F. (McLaughlin) O'Brien. Bill was a graduate of Scotia-Glenville High School class of 1939 and later graduated from Cornell University in 1943. He retired from the US Air Force as a Radar Navigator following 22 years of service to his country. Bill was a member of the Holy Family Church, the Retired Officers Association and Reserves, and the American Legion. Jeanne and Bill had a great love for Dalmatians as well as for all animals; they willingly shared their home with many stray cats and dogs throughout their 62 years of marriage together. Jeanne and Bill are survived by their nieces and a nephew: Linda Bosworth of Johnson City, NY; Nancy Bosworth Fisher of Binghamton, NY; Patricia O'Brien and Janis O'Brien Quesnel of Glenville, NY ; Richard O'Brien of Scotia, NY; and a sister-in-law, Virginia O'Brien of Scotia, NY. Several great nieces and nephews also survive. Jeanne was predeceased by her brother Clifford Bosworth and sister Irene Albro. Bill was predeceased by a brother Richard O'Brien and a sister Loretta O'Brien. Funeral services for Jeanne and William will be held on Friday, January 28th at 1pm at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols. Interment and prayers of committal will follow in the Nichols Cemetery.
